Ben Adams is a native Charlestonian and lives here with his wife and four young children. He has practiced law at Calwell Luce diTrapano PLLC on Charleston's West Side since graduating from law school in 2010. In 2018, Ben was elected to Charleston City Council as an at-large member, where he serves on the Finance Committee, Ordinance & Rules Committee, and the Public Safety Committee. He also serves on the West Side Board of Advisors for Charleston Main Streets, is a Board Member of the Charleston Land Reuse Agency, is a Board Member of the RCCR, and is a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Charleston.
During his time on City Council Ben has sponsored bills aimed at growing small businesses in the City and simplifying their operation. Ben also served as Chair of the Mayor's Select Committee on Cable Franchise which brought competition to the cable television market in the City for the first time in the City's history.
Ben is a Democrat running for City Treasurer to improve accountability, transparency, and to modernize the Office of the City Treasurer. He believes the City’s residents deserve an easily accessible and transparent platform to inform themselves of the City’s financial condition and obligations.
